A Two Year Trail with Extenday DayWhite Reflective Fabric and d’Anjou Pears

• DayWhite, creates a high light environment, significantly increasing light interception within the canopy by 150-180% compared to trees grown under standard conditions. ​
  
• Both full-season DayWhite and early-season DayWhite treatments significantly increased d’Anjou tree yield, with full-season having slightly higher yields and sweetness. ​
  
• The increased yield in DayWhite treatments was primarily driven by increased fruit numbers, with 30% more fruit in the first season and 13% more fruit in the second season. ​
  
• The first year of DayWhite provided a sufficient light, to enable a higher fruit set in the second year. ​
  
• DayWhite improved fruit set and maintained fruit size, resulting in improvements in yield without negatively affecting post-harvest fruit quality. ​
